Fabric Recommendations
You can use almost any woven, non-stretch fabric for the exterior of your bag, but midweight fabrics are recommended for the best results. This pattern looks especially nice out of something like nylon taslan, ripstop, other light-midweight outdoor/utility fabrics but light canvas or twill work as well. Heavier fabrics can create bulky seams that may interfere with the cinch detail.
For the lining, something light like quilting cotton is ideal to avoid adding bulk or weight, but again, any woven non-stretch fabric will work.

Fabric Requirements
- All fabric requirements are provided with the assumption that fabric is cut flat, not folded (except for the strap) to help minimize fabric waste. If you prefer to cut your fabric doubled, you may need to use additional fabric.
- Fabric requirements do not account for fabric shrinkage.

Notions
Zippers
- You can use any kind of zipper you like (molded plastic, metal, nylon)
- If your zipper is longer than required, you can trim it to the required length

Strap
You can make your own strap (pattern pieces and instructions included) or use webbing.
The strap width options are:
- Small size: 25 mm (1”) or 38-40 mm (1.5”) wide
- Large size: 38-40 mm (1.5”) wide or 50 mm (2”) wide
For both options you need:
- 1 Tri-glide adjuster (same width as your strap).
- 1 rectangle D ring or parachute buckle (same width as your strap).
If you’re not making your own strap:
- 110 cm (44”) of webbing (whatever kind you prefer - nylon, polyproylene, cotton, etc.)
Snap, button, or small velcro piece for laptop pocket closure (large size only)
Cord or elastic
- Small Size: 128 cm (50”)
- Large Size: 180 cm (70”)
2 cord locks (make sure your chosen cord/elastic fits in your cord lock)
